Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord

Music Ministries

In Ephesians, Paul reminds us to “sing and make music in our hearts to the Lord.” We at Dardenne Presbyterian Church believe music is an integral part of our worship. Our desire is to engage our congregation in worship that glorifies God, is faithful to Scripture, and leaves a lasting impression on the worshipers’ hearts. To this end, we incorporate Christ-centered psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs of all musical styles in each of our worship services.

Everyone is welcome to be a part of our ministry where the Lord is lifted up and glorified through His gift of music. We are committed to the spiritual, emotional, and relational growth that music provides for all.

Adult Music Ministry

The Chancel Choir is open to anyone who desires to lift his or her voice in song to the Lord! All are welcome! The choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 6:30 – 8:15 pm in the sanctuary from the end of August through June. The choir participates in the traditional service on Sundays and presents special programs throughout the year. Choir rehearsals are joy-filled times of singing a variety of sacred choral music and sharing Christian fellowship. Time is spent during each rehearsal sharing a devotion, sharing prayer requests, and praying for one another.

The Praise Team is a team of instrumentalists and vocalists who lead musical worship in the modern service. We lift music to the Lord that has a more contemporary flare including modern worship songs, old hymns written to new tunes, and new hymns written for the Church of today. The Praise Team rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm. Musicians have the opportunity to play on a rotating schedule which does not require an every Sunday commitment.

The Handbell Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 pm from September through May. High school through adults, experienced ringer or newbie, are welcome to join as we ring praises! The handbell choir participates in the traditional service on select Sundays and also rings in special programs throughout the year.
